Selfishness

Life is selfish.
And life is co-operative.
In equal measure.

Appreciate both, for both are
Essential qualities of life.

Focus on one, and you’ll
Fail to see the other.

The wholly “selfless” one neglects
To take care of its self,
And so suffers from neglect.

The wholly “selfish” one neglects
To take care of others,
And so suffers from isolation,
Division, divisiveness, and thus
Perpetual war against others.

Practice selfishness and co-operation
In equal measure, for both are
Essential qualities of life.

Peaceful co-existence and co-operative action.
Autonomy within community.
A community of whole individuals,
Free to co-operate with, and care for, one another.

Strife

Why strife?

See Selfishness.
