Welcome! Anima Vet is a wholistically oriented veterinary practice owned by Dr. Christine King and based just outside of Seattle. Horses are our primary focus, but dogs, cats, and farm animals are welcome, too.

Dr. Christine King and friends.

I love animals. In thinking about what I want most for my own animals, it's this:

* healthy, happy animals

* a long time with my animals (i.e. longevity for my animals)

* absence of disease, disharmony, and other problems

* quick and complete resolution when problems do arise

* ease and simplicity of caring for my animals

* enjoyment, both of and for my animals

* to be loved by my animals

* to better understand and be understood by my animals

* to live in better balance with the rest of the planet

Helping others to meet these needs is what has driven the evolution of my veterinary practice. Below is a list of the specific tools I use, but this here is fundamentally what my practice is all about. If that sounds good to you, then let's work together.

Veterinary Services

I offer a range of services, from preventive healthcare to the diagnosis and treatment of medical, performance, and behavioral problems. I also love to work with riders to improve the harmony between horse and rider.

These days I take a wholistic approach to diagnosis and treatment which considers the whole animal - body, mind, and spirit.

The tools I primarily use include food, herbal therapy, homeopathy, homotoxicology, spinal mobilization, manual & movement therapies, medical intuitive evaluation, hands-on and distance healing, conventional veterinary medicine, and good basic management (hoof care, dental care, saddle fit, exercise, preventive healthcare, etc.).

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

Mine is a mobile practice based in the greater Seattle area. I am licensed to practice in Washington and Oregon, and am willing to travel anywhere within these states for barn, farm, or home visits.

Do you offer phone consultations?

Yes, on a case-by-case basis. Some problems cannot be adequately dealt with by phone and must be attended by a veterinarian who can examine the animal and provide whatever treatment is appropriate. In many instances, though, there is much we can accomplish by phone, particularly if you already have a primary-care veterinarian. Call or e-mail to see if a phone consultation is appropriate for your situation.

What about e-mail consultations?

Sorry, no. However, you are welcome to send me an e-mail to schedule an appointment or enquire further about my services.

What do you charge?

Consultation and treatment are billed at an hourly rate of $175/hr ($150/hr for Healthy Horse clients). The trip charge for barn/farm and home visits is based on drive time, at a rate of $80/hr ($75/hr for Healthy Horse clients), and is shared among clients whenever possible. Please call or e-mail for an estimate.

Please note that payment is due at the time of service. Payment may be made by cash, check, credit card (Visa, Mastercard, and Discover), or Paypal.
